Climate:  The average annual rainfall at Holbrook is 8,32".  The months of highest precipitation occur in July and August from summer thunderstorms.  The winters are cool.  Snow may occur from November through April buy accumulations of more than several inches are rare.  Normally snows have melted within a day after the storm moves out.  The summers are warm with temperatures reaching 100º for a few days in July.

Vegetation:  The main type of vegetation on the ranch is shortgrass which consists mainly of bunch grasses and scattered shrubs.  The grasses include blue, black and six weeks grama, galleta, alkalia sacaton, sand and mesa dropseed, ring muhly and three awn.
